World War Z 2013 Movie

WORLD WAR Z  2013 MOVIE

World War Z movie based on a horror novel by Max Brooks. It is a follow-up to his 2003 book, The Zombie Survival Guide. World War Z is a collection of individual accounts in the form of first-person anecdotes. Brooks plays the role of an agent of the United Nations Postwar Commission, who published the report a decade after the ten-year Zombie War. The United Nations left much of his research out of the official report, choosing to focus on facts and figures from the war rather than the individual stories that form the bulk of Brooks' novel. The interviews chart a decade-long war against zombies from the view point of many different people of various nationalities. The personal accounts also describe the religious, geo-political, and environmental changes as a result of the Zombie War.

World War Z was inspired by The Good War, an oral history of World War II by Studs Terkel, and by the zombie films of director George A. Romero. Brooks used World War Z to comment on social issues like government ineptitude and American isolationism, while also examining themes of survivalism and uncertainty. Critics have praised the novel for reinventing the zombie genre; the audiobook version, performed by a full cast including Alan Alda, Mark Hamill and John Turturro, won an Audie Award in 2007.

WORLD WAR Z  2013 MOVIE STORYLINE

A U.N. employee is racing against time and fate, as he travels the world trying to stop the outbreak of a deadly Zombie pandemic.

The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug 2013 Movie

THE HOBBIT: THE DESOLATION OF SMAUG 2013 MOVIE

The Dwarves, Bilbo and Gandalf have successfully escaped the Misty Mountains, and Bilbo has gained the One Ring. They all continue their journey to get their gold back from the Dragon, Smaug.

‘The Desolation of Smaug’ refers to the unpopulated lands around Erebor (a.k.a. Lonely Mountain) and the city of Dale, which were left scorched and utterly devoid of life after the dragon Smaug attacked and claimed Erebor as his own – including, massive piles of treasure amassed there by the Dwarves. Benedict Cumber batch (Star Trek Into Darkness) is voicing and portraying via motion-capture the scaly fire-breather, whom humble hobbit Bilbo Baggins (Martin Freeman) encounters on his own in the depths of Smaug’s gold-filled lair.

THE HOBBIT: THE DESOLATION OF SMAUG SYNOPSIS

The second in a trilogy of films adapting the enduringly popular masterpiece The Hobbit, by J.R.R. Tolkien, The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug continues the adventure of the title character Bilbo Baggins (Martin Freeman) as he journeys with the Wizard Gandalf (Ian McKellan) and thirteen Dwarves, led by Thorin Oakenshield (Richard Armitage) on an epic quest to reclaim the lost Dwarf Kingdom of Erebor.

THE HOBBIT: THE DESOLATION OF SMAUG STORYLINE

After successfully crossing over (and under) the Misty Mountains, Thorin and Company must seek aid from a powerful stranger before taking on the dangers of Mirkwood Forest--without their Wizard. If they reach the human settlement of Lake-town it will be time for the hobbit Bilbo Baggins to fulfill his contract with the dwarves. The party must complete the journey to Lonely Mountain and burglar Baggins must seek out the Secret Door that will give them access to the hoard of the dragon Smaug. And, where has Gandalf got off to? And what is his secret business to the south?

Bullet To The Head 2013 movie

BULLET TO THE HEAD 2013 MOVIE

The Wild side: After watching their respective partners die, a cop and a hitman form an alliance in order to bring down their common enemy.

The Movie facts: Bullet To The Head is directed by Walter Hill. The 70 year old also directed the 1980s semi-classics, 48 Hours, Another 48 Hours, Brewster's Millions and the Arnold Schwarzenegger bomb Red Heat.

Don't expect Bullet To The Head to become a box office hit or for it to boost Sylvester Stallone's box office status as an aging action star - he is 67 years old. However, it may do well on DVD.

The Haunting In Connectitcut 2 2013 Movie

The Haunting In Connectitcut 2 Movie :

A young family is tormented by the horrors of the past in THE HAUNTING IN CONNECTICUT 2: GHOSTS OF GEORGIA, a chilling new film based on a true story from Lionsgate and Gold Circle Films.

Building on the terror of The Haunting in Connecticut, this horrifying tale traces a young family’s nightmarish descent into a centuries-old Southern hell. When Andy Wyrick (Chad Michael Murray) moves his wife Lisa (Abigail Spencer) and daughter Heidi to an historic home in Georgia, they quickly discover they are not the house’s only inhabitants. Joined by Lisa’s free-spirited sister, Joyce the family soon comes face-to-face with a bone-chilling mystery born of a deranged desire... a haunting secret rising from underground and threatening to bring down anyone in its path.

Here’s where branding gets counter-productive: the 2009 film The Haunting in Connecticut has spawned a sequel. But the new film takes place in rural Georgia, and the title awkwardly reflects that: The Haunting in Connecticut 2: Ghosts of Georgia. As long as the word “haunting” is prominent, I guess it doesn’t really matter where or why the supernatural infestation is taking place.

Ti West was once going to direct this film, but dropped out. (He ended up making The Innkeepers instead.) Tom Elkins, who edited the original Haunting in Connecticut, as well as The Apparition, directed instead. The film stars Katee Sackhoff, Chad Michael Murray, and Abigail Spencer as members of a family that encounters a presence in an old Georgia house.

Spiderman 3

The Spiderman movies have definitely changed the story from the comic book. Watching the first of the film , I wasn't happy with the depiction of Peter Parker as more self-centred and vain, which is unusually in the context of the comic books. At this moment, Peter Park goes through so much crap that it's a wonder he doesn't commit suicide

Some factual points that were changed, which I'll agree was necessary to make a decent movie, are as follows: The Venom costume is an alien being acquired during the Secret Wars battle with the Beyonder (which was one of the best "cosmic" series Marvel has put out). Spiderman doesn't want to kill villains; even when he is beaten and pulverised, he holds back from taking the ultimate step (in fact, it is rare to show people dying in the comic books). Harry Osborn is more like the depiction of Normie Osborn (the son of Harry and Liz Allan) who is friends with the daughter of Spiderman (Spidergirl). Gwen Stacy is killed by the first Green Goblin (Norman Osborn). The people of New York have rarely been on the side of Spiderman. J. Jonah Jameson has always had a point in saying that it is people like Spiderman who create the villains. And so on.

It's difficult for me to reconcile what I know of Spiderman's history with a movie story that does its best and I admire that. A problem with the movies is that they can't intersect with the other characters from the Marvel Universe. It would be great to have movies like the Secret Wars or the Infinity Gauntlet, War, and Crusade series where a bunch of the Marvel superheroes get together and the stories make more sense (for example, explaining the origin of the Venom symbiote), but I guess that would be a logistic and budgetary nightmare.

Halfway through the movie, the story gets in line with what you'd expect from the book. The rejected symbiote bonds with a humiliated Eddie Brock to become Venom, one of the coolest villains to be introduced in the later years. The Sandman is a villain who is ambiguous. And Spiderman has a run of bad luck and is pummeled constantly but triumphs in the end against all odds.
